Memorial Day 2012

Well, Memorial Day Weekend is almost over.  For most of us, it was a three day weekend where we grilled out, went swimming, spent time with family and relaxed.  I hope that if you know any veterans that you thanked them for what they did for you and this country.  Whether or not you agreed with what, or why they were where they were, they still done it for you, and for your freedom to have your opinion.

My uncle went to Viatnam.  He was called a baby killer and spit on when he returned.  My uncle did not kill children, but was on the front lines and witnessed some horrible things.  Like his best friend in the Jeep with him being blown to bits when a gernade landed inside it with them.  His friend took the brunt of the blow to save my uncle.  That is love people.  Unconditional love of a friend.

So whether or not you had a family member serve, be thankful that someone out there cares enough for you to fight for your freedoms and opinions.  Find a vet....thank them.  Watch them tear up and smile.  Hey, it's the least you can do.

Loves,
The Bookworm!
