Curse of the Ice Dragon by Tara West

OVERVIEW BY B&N

From the bestselling paranormal author of The Whispers Series comes a new fantasy saga.
Born with mark of the Mighty Hunter, Markus saves his village from the brink of starvation --for whenever he releases an arrow, his aim is true. But despite his skill and strength, Markus is unable to confront his tyrannical father. Shamed by his cowardice, he distracts himself by needlessly shooting the forest creatures.
When Markus takes no heed of the village prophet's warning that his actions will attract The Hunter’s Curse—for every animal Markus kills, his loved ones will suffer the same fate—the Sky Goddess unleashes her ice dragon. Now, Markus must flee the dragon without killing it ... or his beloved brother will be the next to die.

REVIEW BY THE BOOKWORM

Eragon with a twist!  Actually to me, this is better than Eragon.  Yes, you Paloni people beat me to death. I didn't say I didn't like him. I own all the books.  It's just, simply put, BETTER!  There is more meat on the bones so to speak.

Markus is a more developed character right from the start. He is growing in ways that Eragon does not need to grow, and I find myself compelled to get to know more and more about it.  The overview gives you all the information that you need.

But this is a read that you have to do!  I'm serious!  You will NOT regret it!

Krysta's Curse by Tara West

REVEIW BY THE BOOKWORM

Let me say, I forgot to put the overview on here.  >.<  Completely my fault.  But you can find it at BN.com.  This is the last book so far in the Whispers series, and I am completely in love.  I have love Krysta's character the most so far.

She looks at her gift as a curse, but she doesn't know that there are people that she loves, or could have loved around her.  I won't give away the book, but if you haven't read this series, it is a definate must!

Review by the Bookworm

What can I say?  I was left hanging. I enjoyed this book immensely, but I'm also glad to be getting out of the series, for now.  Why?  Because Mrs. James has left us hanging.  Seems like she will be approaching the story by the way of Christian's point of view.  Why does this sound familiar?  Maybe like our favorite sparkly vampire Edward?  We have been left hanging by Miss Meyer for years now.  I can only hope that James doesn't do the same to us.

The overview goes into everything that you know. I just wish the sex was cut out.  I mean...yeah, we get it...they are sexually active for pete's sake.  The storyline was slow in the first book.  It only picked up in the second book.  I can't say I liked the ending. I wanted Elena to get it up the arse and be the bad guy.  Was kinda disappointing on that side.

Should you read it?  I will leave that up to you.  Will I pick it up again?  Most def!
